About Finish the Quote
Finish the Quote tests how well you remember the words behind famous quotations. We give you the opening — often the part that's been shortened or misquoted online — and four possible endings. Only one matches the original.
Distractors are drawn from other real quotes in the library, so they sound plausible. It's a sharper test than authorship: you have to recall the actual wording, not just the source. Streaks and packs work the same as our other trivia games, and the reveal screen always shows the author, era and the original source.
Play casually or open Live Mode for streams and trivia nights. Quote endings are large enough to read across a room, and chat can vote A/B/C/D before the timer runs out.

No — every distractor is the real ending of another famous quote. That's what makes it hard.
Are misquotes ever used?+
No. We only use endings that are tied to widely-attributed, well-sourced quotations.

How long is a session?+
